    These sites are everywhere now:

You, sir, are a trend setter. I wonder how many will still be around next year?

  3. 3: black n gold said at 6:37 PM on January 6th, 2009:

Since there’s no stars anymore, I’ll offer this feedback (if you care). The earlier leans post helps “get in your head” a lot. It goes further than just seeing how many units you play and blindly following…since we all know how much you advocate that.

  4. 4: moneyline said at 6:37 PM on January 6th, 2009:

I know I wasn’t the first. I may or may not be the most tenured at this point though.

I would guess that sites like ours have an even higher failure rate than other genres of blogs.

Wagering isn’t a sustainable hobby for most, and even if it is, there is always the off chance that it will drive you insane (see me).

  5. 5: black n gold said at 6:39 PM on January 6th, 2009:

And sorry to keep double-posting, but what are the odds on a parlay of these two posts tomorrow:

ML – something to the effect of “what a shitty night”
FOFreepicks – “After a perfect 2-0 start, we look to continue down the path to perfection tonight…”

  6. 6: moneyline said at 6:42 PM on January 6th, 2009:

“what are the odds on a parlay of these two posts tomorrow”

    100%.

‘Bama is absolutely not messing around tonight.

  7. 7: Vegas Watch said at 6:43 PM on January 6th, 2009:

    Approximately 22%.

  8. 8: black n gold said at 6:44 PM on January 6th, 2009:

I love the way he posts. Throwing historical ATS stats out there, saying things like “coast to an easy victory…”

It’s the kind of thing I would’ve bought into if I hadn’t read a few BOB posts and seen the results of the games that inspired them.

  9. 9: moneyline said at 6:46 PM on January 6th, 2009:

    “Approximately 22%.”

Did you have ‘Bama’s odds of covering set at 100% when you did that calculation? If not then you are wrong.

‘Bama remembers. ‘Bama is going to coast.

ML how have you been finding these random square blogs? Did this guy e-mail you? I want more.

“ML how have you been finding these random square blogs?”

A lot of them email me. This one I pulled from the ESPN conversation page for the Uconn game. (He was spamming it)

I think your “fades” blogroll idea is genius. Whether you do it or not, I will be stealing/copying it eventually.

  12. 12: rexfordbuzzsaw said at 6:53 PM on January 6th, 2009:

I was going to say a ton of retarded people spam their blogs on the ESPN conversation, but I guess you beat me to it.

  13. 13: razorhater said at 6:54 PM on January 6th, 2009:

Thanks for the post ML. I just started the site today. I’ve been gambling sports since college in ‘90 and I have done pretty well. Figured i’d post my top picks on a blog and see how they do. I’ve been reading your site. Pretty cool stuff.

Or your fiancee murders you for spending too much time blogging and watching sports. Not that I see that in my future at all.

I just put one up on the left sidebar. Picks That Cover was dark for awhile, but they seem to be back at it. Wasn’t sure whether to add the consensus sites or not; they are useful, sure, but it’s less funny that way.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting the return of Johnny December. Thanks for the heads-up.

Your relationship will seriously be fine as long as you continue to manage your money responsibly and refrain from betting on Euro Golf.

The latter is MUCH more important. Trust me.

  18. 18: moneyline said at 7:06 PM on January 6th, 2009:

Wait a second. I actually laid points with WVU?

The reality of this really never hit me until they fell behind 4-3 a moment ago, and I realized that I was essentially down 4. This is going to suck.

  19. 19: black n gold said at 7:06 PM on January 6th, 2009:

Yeah I feel like with the EURO golf, it’s not only the obscurity of it all, but the time difference too. It has to pretty much turn you into an almost 24/7 gambling nutjob.

At least tonight you can follow along on CBSsportsline’s GLOG!

CBS Sportsline’s new Game Tracker is hysterical. So much suspense while the ball is the air. I can’t take it.

    *No one.

But before opening up YouPorn, make sure you open Garsha’s picks! It’s gold, Jerry! Gold!

  24. 24: moneyline said at 8:24 PM on January 6th, 2009:

I just bought two Snuggies and a Porta Book. Really need these picks to come through now.

How did you neglect the Shamwow?

  26. 26: Play Or Get Played said at 8:28 PM on January 6th, 2009:

Snuggies no way. That commercial gets me every time. My personal favorite part is the 4 family members sitting around a fire with their matching snuggies. It’s so KKK like its incredible.

  27. 27: moneyline said at 9:56 PM on January 6th, 2009:

Saving up for that one. Still a little light in the pocket after purchasing 3 refrigerators from Haier during last year’s NBA playoffs.

0-4 assuming Clemson loses. This is getting unbearable.

  30. 30: moneyline said at 10:34 PM on January 6th, 2009:

It’s really (not) amusing to me how Sacto is going to cover tonight after the shit they pulled in the 2nd half yesterday.

  31. 31: moneyline said at 11:00 PM on January 6th, 2009:

Fuck Chalk and Fuck Clemson. Tigers go up 14. Rivers misses a wide open back breaking 3 that would have put them up 17 and then Clemson just totally relaxes and goes into the tank.

  32. 32: Play Or Get Played said at 11:02 PM on January 6th, 2009:

    FUCK CLEMSON

  33. 33: moneyline said at 11:04 PM on January 6th, 2009:

    “FUCK CLEMSON”

I’m not sure if you have had the displeasure of actually watching, but they basically just stopped trying once it got to 14. Pretty laughable.

  34. 34: moneyline said at 11:05 PM on January 6th, 2009:

It doesn’t even matter at this point, but they just missed 3 straight front ends. Fuckers.

They just missed the front end to three straight 1 and 1s.

Watching the play by play was bad enough, watching it live I probably would have broke something.

After seeing this website (click on my screenname to view), I’m fairly convinced I never want to bet another NBA game again for nausea of tracking ref assignments. Can’t wait until they create one for the crooked college refs.

  39. 39: black n gold said at 8:39 AM on January 7th, 2009:

That Clemson ending was a joke. I had given up at halftime, was ready to pass out midway though the 2nd half only to have them rell me back in on a couple of 3’s by Oglesby to make it a 14 point lead. Then they just “took a knee” for the rest of the game.

Also, ML…sorry for any jinxing that the 5th comment of this post might have done. FOFreepicks is now 2-0.
