Week 8: -12.65x
STD: +11.76x

10/21/09UTEP +7 +129 (4) — Utep 28 Tul 24

10/21/09 — UTEP +7.5 2nd Half -115 (2) — Tul 17 Utep 15

My life may never again be as good as it was right after both of these rolled in late.

10/22/09Army +11 -105 (4) —- Rut 27 Arm 10

I vaguely remember Army’s punter straight up dropping a snap, picking the ball up & trying to kick it on the run, and having it blocked & returned for 6. I’m fairly certain that this sequence was -EV.

10/23/09Baylor +10 -110 (2), Baylor +9.5 -105 (2) — Osu 34 Bay 7

10/23/09Virginia +6 -110 (2), Virginia +5 +108 (2) — Gt 34 Uva 9

D-O-M-I-N-A-T-E-D. Dominated.

10/23/09Sparty PK -105 (6) —- Iowa 15 Msu 13

I watched this game at a “Hawkeye” bar surrounded by fellow Iowa alumni, and surprisingly I handled myself well throughout; neither celebrating after MSU went up 13-9 nor freaking out when Iowa won as time expired. This can be attributed mostly to the fact that Sunday had not happened yet.

I don’t disagree with those who are calling this the worst loss of the college football STD, but I think that says more about the previous losses than it does about this one. Yes, the final drive was excruciating and improbable, but the game was close throughout, and Sparty was dead to rights themselves with 2:00 to play before converting on 3rd & 18 via a successful hook and ladder. I’m not saying that not that I’m not pissed. I’ve just seen much, much worse. Pretty recently too….

Discuss next week’s garbage here.
