The NBA Playoffs: Where Justice Is Served, Once Every 2 Weeks

Wizards +5 +100 (2), Wizards +4.5 +113 (1) – Was 88 Cle 87

It was 84-82 when Lebron blatantly raked Caron Butler’s shooting arm as he was attempting to finish a play going to the basket. No foul was called, and the Cavs ended up with a 2 on 1 break that resulted in a Delonte West And 1.

There was 1:47 to go after West’s free throw put the Cavs up 5. At this point not only was a Wizards victory unlikely, but the Cover was 3 feet deep in shit as well.

Things looked even bleaker when Eddie Jordan called an isolation play for Darius Songalia out of the ensuing timeout. I wish I was making this up. Do I even need to tell you how this play worked out? The Cavs had the ball and a 5 point lead with 1:37 to play. A 7-10 point win was a formality.

But then a funny thing happened. For the final 90 seconds of the game the officials treated the Wizards and Cavs equitably. As if the names on the backs of their jerseys didn’t matter. And the better team won.

There is zero doubt in my mind that David Stern will fly in Joe Forte and Dick Bavetta for Game 6.

Daytime Bases:

I was so upset I turned the game off at that point, figured that my tuning in from 82-82 to 87-82 jinxed my Wiz bet as well.

Imagine my surprise when I saw the post game presser and LeBron explaining how he could miss the game winning shot with 3 seconds left. A true double take was needed to ensure I what I was watching was, in fact, true.

    Nice play.

Don’t you need “happens” in the title?

You’re never going to get to $1,000,000 with mistakes like that. Amateur.

    Vegas,

I couldn’t add it without the headline sounding super shitty. Plus the joke has been beaten to death by pretty much every blogger out there. Myself Included.
