PGA Grand Slam of Golf: +6x
Frys.Com Open: +1.66x
Castello Masters: +1.46x
Volvo Match Play: +2x
HSBC Champions: -4.5x
Golf since return to The TMLJ: +56.24x
Whatever. Once upon a time in a land far, far away I had an impressive track record with the NBA. The End.
It’s a shame that SBR does not archive golf odds as they do the real sports because a better way to predict how I might do in the future would be to compare the prices I get on match-ups to the Pinny closing numbers. I feel like I’ve been doing great in this regard, but unfortunately I can’t fucking prove it.
Australian Masters
Last Year:
Had Sim to win and place Top 5; he shared the lead after 3 rounds and then fired a 77 to finish T-11. Good times.
This Year:
Nada.
UBS Hong Kong Open
Last Year:
Nothing that I can recall.
This Year:
GMAC +142 over Rory for the tournament (2.5, SBET)
As far as I’m concerned Rory has no ceiling, but he isn’t going to realize his full potential all at once, so while this may not be a fair price 2-3 years down the road, it is almost certainly value right now.
Jeev -115 over Y.E. Yang (1.2, Blowdog)
Blowdog’s limits are low, and the price is only okay anyways, but this is might be my favorite made up match-up ever.
Disney
Last Year:
I followed up the infamous Palmer Party by taking Marino, and he was tied for the lead late in the final round only to plummet out of contention after flubbing a routine chip into a bunker at #13.
This Year:
Ben Crane outright at 50-1 (Risking .8, Greek)
50-1 is a really good price, and Crane is just one of those guys who consistently scores well but receives little-no attention because he hasn’t hoisted a trophy in a few years.
Stephen Ames +115 over Justin Rose (2, BM)
Ames is getting up there in age (45), but the ability gap between him and Rose over the last few years is large enough to warrant rolling the dice at +115.
Briny Baird -105 over Brian Davis (2, 5D)
Shocking fact: Briny is 8 years younger than Ames.
